I’m right in the middle of “My Apocalypse” as I type. It actually sounds a little crappy (recording quality) but I agree that the drums no longer sound like Lars is beating on the trunk of a ‘42 Plymouth. It does have Rick’s signature dry and real vibe which I’m typically a huge fan of. I’m now on to “The Day That Never Comes” and there’s just a crap element that I can’t pinpoint. It sounds distorted. I’m A/B ing it with my new favorite song “Sugar” by Kid Rock. Yeah, it’s just Metallica that sounds bad. I’m starting to think that’s how they wanted it to sound. I’m not a huge fan of this stuff. It is, however, way more fun to listen to than Choad or ReChoad though. “The Day That Never Comes” is quite an epic song (almost 8 minutes). I’m already $2 in, having purchased these two pre-release songs so I might as well spend the other $8 to get the whole record on September 12th.
Damn it…I was pouring tea out of my new OXO Liquiseal Thermal Beverage Container and I just spilled all over a Fashion ROCKS magazine with JT on the cover. Hopefully that’s the worst thing that happens to me all day.
Actually, we still have a crap load of posters but my huge order for tube poster mailers is now on backorder until mid August. So that screws the idea of sending out hundreds more. But hey, come to the show and grab one. Or we’ll probably have a pretty sweet package deal for all of the posters at some point.
From now until Clintonsfest ‘08 on September 5th (ALL AGES outdoor street show in front of Mixers in Bozeman) you can order a free 18×24 poster. Just pay $2.50 for shipping and the poster tubes that we send them in.
If you would like to hang up posters and promote the show, just select that option at check out and have 10 posters sent to you to hang up. We’ll keep the poster in our collection so you’ll be able to buy it after Clintonsfest 08.

Here’s a new artist that Kenny Aronoff recorded with recently. I checked out his shiz after watching Kenny play along with one of the songs on this dude’s new record.
His name is Philip Sayce. It’s ripping Jimi Hendrix meets Lennie Kravitz meets Stevie. It was recorded live with amps and drums in the same room. Such a huge retro vibe. Cool stuff. Here’s his myspace page: www.myspace.com/philipsayce
Also,it’s my sisters big 3 oh today. Happy birthday Nichole!
Music Villa is the honestly the best music store in a several state radius. A shitn Guitar Center (the costo of music stores) can’t shake a stick at Music Villa. A true testament to the bitchen-ness of this Bozeman music store is the world class drum clinic they held last Sunday. If you’re on their mailing list you’ll never miss any of the tons of drums clinics, guitar clinics, bass clinics and other special events they provide free to the music community of Bozeman and the rest of Montana.
Kenny Aronoff’s drum clinic was titties mcraken. He’s probably the widest known studio drummer on the planet. Check out his allmusic.com drumming credits.
Here’s the song he ended with. There’s a sweet solo at the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mxRX72wpGM
